React Native Developer Salaries and Rates in 2026 (India, US, UK, UAE)
React Native developer salary data for 2026 in the US, UK, India and UAE, freelance rates, why salary sites disagree, and what to compare when hiring.
Full-Stack, Mobile & AI Engineer
Search for a React Native developer salary and you'll find numbers that disagree by a factor of three for the same country. That isn't because one site is lying. They measure different things: advertised salaries versus self-reported ones, "React Native developer" versus any developer who lists React Native as a skill, base pay versus total compensation, a handful of profiles versus thousands of job ads.
This guide collects current, sourced figures for the US, UK, India and the UAE, plus freelance and contract rates, and explains how to read each one. Every number below links to where it came from, with the date. No figures here are estimated or invented, which also means some markets have thinner data than you might like.
Key takeaways
- United States: about $129,348 a year on average, or $62.19 an hour, according to ZipRecruiter (August 2026).
- United Kingdom: a median advertised salary of £80,000 for permanent roles citing React Native, according to ITJobsWatch (six months to 11 October 2026).
- India: published data is thin and varies widely by source and seniority; freelance rates on Upwork are typically $15 to $20 an hour.
- UAE: the best available public figure covers all mobile developers, not React Native specifically, and salaries are usually quoted monthly.
- Compare like with like: source type, sample size, seniority and whether the figure is salary, rate or total cost.
The numbers at a glance
| Market | Figure | What it measures | Source and date |
|---|---|---|---|
| United States | $129,348 a year average ($62.19 an hour) | React Native developer pay, US-wide | ZipRecruiter, August 2026 |
| United Kingdom | £80,000 median (10th percentile £52,500, 90th £100,000) | Advertised salaries for permanent jobs citing React Native | ITJobsWatch, six months to 11 October 2026 |
| India | ₹405,880 a year average (10th to 90th percentile ₹233k to ₹824k) | Software developers with React Native skills, 16 profiles | PayScale, June 2026 |
| UAE | AED 5,914 a month average | All mobile developers, 51 reported salaries | Indeed UAE, August 2026 |
United States
ZipRecruiter puts the average React Native developer salary in the US at $129,348 a year, which works out to $62.19 an hour. That hourly figure is a salary converted to hours, not a contractor's rate: employers also pay benefits, taxes, equipment and management overhead on top, so the full cost of a salaried developer is meaningfully higher than the salary alone. Pay also varies a lot by city and by company type.
United Kingdom
ITJobsWatch tracks UK job adverts that mention React Native. Over the six months to 11 October 2026, the median advertised salary for permanent roles was £80,000, with the 10th percentile at £52,500 and the 90th at £100,000. Two cautions: these are advertised salaries, not what people accepted, and adverts that mention React Native include senior and lead roles as well as mid-level ones, which can push the median up.
React Native vs Flutter, iOS and Android developer salaries
The same UK source makes a like-for-like comparison possible, using advertised salaries for permanent roles over the six months to 11 October 2026:
| Skill cited in the job advert | Median salary | 10th percentile | 90th percentile |
|---|---|---|---|
| React Native | £80,000 | £52,500 | £100,000 |
| Flutter | £75,000 | £31,396 | Not reported |
| Swift (iOS) | £75,000 | £47,000 | £95,000 |
| Kotlin (Android and backend) | £70,000 | £55,000 | £90,000 |
The gaps are modest, and each skill's adverts mix seniorities differently, so don't read this as "React Native pays more" in every case. It does show that cross-platform skills aren't paid at a discount to native ones in that market.
India
India is where published data is weakest. PayScale's figure for software developers with React Native skills is an average of ₹405,880 a year, but it's based on only 16 salary profiles, which is too small a sample to describe a whole market and likely skews towards early-career developers. Company-level data on AmbitionBox shows wider and higher ranges for experienced developers; at Infosys, for example, its 2025 data shows React Native salaries of ₹5.2 lakh to ₹12.4 lakh a year for two to six years of experience. Product companies, startups with funding and roles serving international clients often pay differently again.
For freelance work, Upwork's figures for React Native developers in India show typical rates of about $15 to $20 an hour, within a listed range of $6 to $25.
How pay changes with experience
Salary sites let you filter by years of experience, but the samples behind each band get small quickly, especially for React Native specifically. What changes between bands is more reliable than any single number:
| Experience | What employers usually expect | What moves you to the next band |
|---|---|---|
| 0 to 2 years | Building screens and features within an existing app | Shipping features end to end, debugging on real devices |
| 2 to 4 years | Owning features, APIs and state, some native configuration | Owning releases, performance work, writing native modules |
| 5+ years | Architecture, releases, mentoring, technical decisions | Leading migrations, owning production health, hiring |
When you compare offers, compare the responsibilities attached to them. A "senior" title with junior scope is common, and so is the reverse.
United Arab Emirates
Indeed's UAE data puts the average mobile developer salary at AED 5,914 a month, from 51 reported salaries (updated 31 August 2026). That figure covers all mobile developers rather than React Native specifically, and the sample is small. Two features of the UAE market matter when comparing: salaries are usually quoted monthly, and there's no personal income tax, so a monthly figure isn't directly comparable to a pre-tax annual salary elsewhere. Packages can also include allowances, so ask what's included.
Pakistan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and other markets
Public data specific to React Native is thin in many markets. Local job boards give the most current picture: Rozee.pk in Pakistan, Wuzzuf in Egypt and Bayt across the Gulf, filtered by experience. Look at several live adverts for the same seniority rather than one aggregate figure, and note whether salaries are quoted monthly or yearly, gross or net.
Freelance React Native developer hourly rates
| Channel | Typical rate | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Upwork, developers in India | About $15 to $20 an hour (listed $6 to $25) | Upwork |
| Vetted remote networks | About $60 to $100+ an hour | Arc |
Rates and salaries aren't comparable directly. A freelancer's rate has to cover gaps between projects, equipment, software, insurance, taxes and time spent finding work, and the client avoids benefits and long-term commitments. Compare total cost for the same outcome, not hourly numbers.
From the field: I've worked independently since January 2021 for clients in the US, UK, EU, Middle East, Singapore and Australia, and over 7+ years I've shipped 50+ apps to the stores. My own project rate starts at $45 an hour, which sits between typical marketplace rates and vetted network rates. For clients, the hourly number matters less than the total for a defined scope.
Why salary sites disagree
- Source type: job adverts (what employers offer) versus self-reported salaries (what people say they earn).
- Sample size: sixteen profiles and several thousand adverts are not the same quality of evidence.
- Job definition: "React Native developer", "mobile developer" and "software developer with React Native skills" are different populations.
- Seniority mix: a source dominated by juniors or by leads shifts the average.
- Pay definition: base salary, total compensation, contractor day rates and converted hourly figures all get called "salary".
- Date: markets move, and many pages update monthly.
What tends to move pay up
Pay follows the problems you can own, not the framework on your CV. Skills worth building if you want to move up:
- Release ownership: builds, signing, store review, over-the-air updates and crash triage.
- Native capability: writing and debugging native modules in Swift and Kotlin.
- Backend skills: APIs, databases and payments, so you can ship whole features.
- Migrations and performance: New Architecture upgrades, profiling and startup work.
- Communication: clear writing, estimates and time-zone overlap for remote clients.
